BIAB (Builder In A Bottle)
What is BIAB?
BIAB stands for Builder In A Bottle. It is a strengthening gel that is applied directly onto the natural nail to add support, structure and durability.
BIAB is thicker and stronger than regular gel polish, but more flexible and natural looking than acrylic. It creates a protective layer over your own nails, making them less likely to bend, split or snap.
This makes BIAB a beautiful option if you want to grow your natural nails, keep them stronger for longer or give weak nails extra support.
A BIAB treatment usually lasts around 3 to 4 weeks. After that, it can be safely removed and reapplied, or infilled if the product is still in good condition.
The result is a clean, natural looking manicure with extra strength, structure and long lasting wear.
Why choose BIAB?
BIAB is perfect if you want stronger natural nails with a polished, natural looking finish. It helps protect your own nails while supporting healthy nail growth over time.
At Polish Nail Bar, every BIAB treatment is tailored to your nail type, lifestyle and desired result. Whether your nails are weak, thin, damaged, short or simply need extra strength, we create a structured finish that feels strong, elegant and still natural.
Benefits of BIAB
Strengthens natural nails
BIAB adds structure and support to the natural nail, making it less likely to bend, split or break.
Supports nail growth
Because your nails are protected underneath the BIAB layer, they can grow with more stability and less daily damage.
Ideal for weak nails or nail biters
The durable layer can help protect short, weak or bitten nails while they grow out.
Natural looking finish
BIAB is available in soft nude, pink and neutral tones that enhance the look of your own nails.
Colour flexibility
You can keep your BIAB natural and clean, or finish it with one of our 300 plus gel polish colours.
Long lasting wear
With the right aftercare, BIAB usually lasts around 3 to 4 weeks.
Safe and careful treatment process
We work with professional products, careful preparation and safe removal to help protect the health of your natural nails.
Optional UV protection
If you prefer, sunscreen is available before curing under the LED or UV lamp.
Is BIAB right for me?
BIAB is a good choice if:
You want to grow your natural nails
Your nails break, bend or split easily
You want more strength than gel polish
You prefer a natural looking manicure
You want a long lasting result
You do not want acrylic or extensions
You are trying to recover from damaged nails
You bite your nails or struggle to keep them long
BIAB may not be the best choice if you prefer a very thin, lightweight manicure. In that case, gel polish may feel better for you.
What to expect during your BIAB treatment
Every BIAB treatment at Polish Nail Bar is carefully done step by step, with attention to nail health, structure and a clean finish.
Treatment steps
1. Safe removal or refill preparation
If you already have BIAB or gel polish on your nails, we gently file down the product with an e file. When needed, the remaining product is soaked off safely. For BIAB refills, we carefully reduce the existing product and prepare the nail for a fresh structure.
2. Nail and cuticle preparation
We shape the nails, push back and clean the cuticles, refine the nail surface and cleanse the nails to remove dust and excess oils. This creates the right base for long lasting results.
3. Optional UV protection
Before curing under the LED or UV lamp, we can apply sunscreen or provide protective gloves if preferred.
4. BIAB application
We apply BIAB in thin, controlled layers. The first layer creates adhesion, while the second layer builds strength, balance and structure. Each layer is cured under the lamp.
5. Refining the shape
Once the BIAB has cured, we refine the shape and surface of the nails for a smooth, polished and natural looking finish.
6. Colour or nail art, optional
You can keep your BIAB natural, or add gel polish, French, chrome or nail art on top.
7. Top coat and final cure
We finish with a top coat to seal the treatment and add long lasting shine.
8. Cuticle oil and aftercare
Your treatment ends with nourishing cuticle oil and aftercare advice to help keep your nails healthy between appointments.
Please note
Treatment time can vary depending on the condition of your nails, whether removal is needed and whether you choose colour or nail art. We take the time needed to prepare, protect and finish your nails properly.

FAQ
What is the guarantee on BIAB treatments?
At Polish Nail Bar, we offer a guarantee on BIAB and Builder Gel treatments from the day of your original appointment. Non members: 7 days Polish Club members: 12 days If something happens within this period, you can contact us to come in for a complimentary repair or touch up. The guarantee only applies when the issue is related to the treatment itself. Damage caused by picking, biting, accidents or using your nails as tools is not included.
When should I book a BIAB removal?
We recommend booking a BIAB removal and new set when your BIAB has become too thick, shows lifting or air bubbles, or after several infill appointments. As a general guideline, we advise a fresh new set after 3 to 4 BIAB appointments, depending on the condition of your nails and the product. If your previous BIAB treatment included gel polish on top, please book a gel polish removal together with your BIAB infill. This gives us enough time to safely remove the colour layer and prepare your nails properly.
What is the difference between Gel Polish, BIAB and Hard Gel?
Gel Polish is a colour treatment with a glossy finish. It is lighter and thinner, but does not add much strength to the natural nail. BIAB is a strengthening builder gel for natural nails. It adds structure, helps reduce breakage and is ideal if you want to grow your own nails. Hard Gel is stronger than BIAB and is better suited for longer nails, very weak nails or extensions.
What affects how long BIAB lasts?
How long your BIAB lasts depends on your natural nails, lifestyle and aftercare. Frequent exposure to water, cleaning products, heat, cold or using your nails as tools can affect the longevity of your treatment. Vy’s tip: Wear gloves while cleaning, use cuticle oil daily and do not pick or peel the product.
What if my nails are very short or very long?
If your nails are very short, BIAB may not last as long during the first few appointments. We may recommend returning after 2 weeks for your first infill, so we can check your nail growth and keep the structure strong. If your natural nails are longer than 1.5 cm, please book the BIAB for longer nails add on. Longer nails need more product, more structure and extra time. If your nails are very long or you want extensions, we may recommend Hard Gel instead.
